Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, northern India is in news these days because of the birth of an unusual calf in an animal shelter. Apparently, this newborn calf bears great resemblance with a human face. It has human-like eyes, nose and ears. The sooner the news of its birth spread, people from all the adjoining areas rushed to visit this calf, named as the avatar of Hindu god Vishnu. Read on to find more about this story.
This abnormal looking calf with human-like features could not survive for too long and died within a couple of hours of its birth. But people have secured its body in a glass box and placed it for the visitors to come and pay homage to this god’s avatar. According to the locals, this strange cow is god Vishnu, mentioned in the famous Hindu religious book Bhagavata Puran.
Hindu villagers are planning to build a temple of this HOLY COW to celebrate and worship it. According to the villagers, this cow with human face is a ‘Gokaran’ -one of the 24 incarnations of lord Vishnu. As a local speaks;
“It’s a miracle that the calf was born in this shelter. “Thousands of people have been here to see it. We will be cremating him in three days and a temple will be built for him. This avatar has most definitely created a devotion feeling amongst the people.”

What Medical Science says about it?
Medically this condition is known as anatomical anomaly and it has nothing to do with gods and avatars, said Dr. Ajay Deshmukh senior veterinary doctor. He further says; “If a gene didn’t develop properly or there was a fault, it causes multiple structural deformities, and such anomalies happen. It has got only scientific reasons and explanations, there’s no superstitions here.’
